Vietnam's southern stock market ends down
HO CHI MINH CITY, March 23 (Xinhua) -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in south Vietnam, closed at 570.89 points on Monday, down 4.55 points, or 0.79 percent, against last Friday's closing session.
About 99.548 million shares worth 1.839 trillion Vietnamese dong (VND) (85.72 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the southern HCM City Stock Exchange. Prices of 63 stocks went up, 162 stocks fell down, while 65 stocks remained unchanged.
VN30-Index, the new benchmark index for the southern bourse, which tracks the 30 leading stocks by both market capitalization and liquidity, closed at 598.07 points, down 5.69 points, or 0.94 percent.
A total of 48.070 million shares worth 925.17 billion VND (43. 11 million U.S. dollars) were traded on Monday.
