ISTANBUL, Turkey -
The Turkish military says its warplanes attacked Kurdish rebels in Iraq's north.
The attacks came two days after bombings in Istanbul killed 17 people. The government blamed Kurdish rebels.
The military said Tuesday that the warplanes attacked rebel targets in Zab region and Qandil Mountain where rebel leaders are based.
It said many of a 40-strong rebel group outside a cave at Mount Qandil were killed in the attack.
