Jordan to be supplied with Iraq oil
Iraqi Finance Minister has discussed plans with Jordanian officials to build an oil pipeline from Iraq's Haditha to Jordan's Aqaba port.
Bayan Jabr Solagh said that the pipeline from Haditha, in Iraq's volatile Al-Anbar province, could provide an alternative to the land route used to transport Iraqi crude oil to Jordan.
He discussed the issue with Jordanian Prime Minister Nader Dahabi and Finance Minister Hamad al-Kasasbeh. He also spoke of the importance of carrying out a study to examine the possibility of building the pipeline.
Baghdad struck a deal with Amman in August 2006 to provide its western neighbor with between 10 and 30 percent of its daily oil needs.
