Japan offers Iraq USD 3.5 billion loan

BAGHDAD, April 30 (KUNA) -- Iraq will soon receive a loan from Japan estimated at 3.5 billion dollars, the government announced on Sunday.

A government statement said that the Iraqi Finance Ministry is currently finalizing talks with the Japanese government over this loan.

According to the loan, Iraq is to receive the first batch of the loan estimated at one billion dollars soon.

The loan agreement had been agreed upon during the donors conference that was held in Madrid in 2003
