Iraqi Businessmen In Turkish Southeastern City For International Fair
The Iraqi businessmen, led by the head of the Iraqi federation of chambers of commerce, will participate in the Third International Iraq Fair in Gaziantep.
"We believe that Turkey has a great role in Iraq`s development," Jaafar al-Hamadani, head of the federation, told Nejat Kocer, chairman of the Gaziantep Chamber of Industry.
During the meeting, al-Hamadani said that Iraq was open to international markets, particularly regional economy and Turkey, with its new economy.
Al-Hamadani said he believed that Turkish businessmen would continue to support Iraq as they were aware that Iraq`s economy would be better soon.
Also speaking in the meeting, Kocer said that Union of Chambers & Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) thought that Turkey should boost its cooperation with Iraq.
Kocer said Turkish businessmen wanted Iraq to return to normal life and to become stronger in the possible shortest time.
Turkish-Iraqi foreign trade volume was over 3.5 billion USD in 2007.
The Third International Iraq Fair will open on Thursday and host 800 companies from 30 countries. Iraqi Ministry of Trade and Gaziantep Chamber of Industry are organizing the fair, supported by Turkey`s Foreign Trade Undersecretariat and TOBB.
The United States, Syria, Italy, India, China, Poland, Iran, Romania, Jordan, Bulgaria, Ghana, United Arab Emirates are some of the countries that will attend the fair.
A wide range of products from numerous sectors such as machinery, construction, energy, automotive, electronics, foodstuff, textile, hygiene and cosmetics will be exhibited at the fair.
This is the only fair which Iraqi government allows to be organized in a foreign country.
