Iraq sells US$25 billion worth of oil
The Ministry of Oil has stressed its commitment to continue pumping Iraqi oil via the Turkish port, and that its exports through this outlet have not yet been affected by the present crisis between both countries.
An official source in the Iraqi oil ministry has told the press that despite the present crisis with Turkey, Iraq is still pumping uninterrupted to fill the tanks at Ceyhan Port with additional quantities, hinting that it sold during the past few days to a number of European and American companies five million barrels of crude oil. |

He added that Iraq will be offering in the short period to come new quantities for auction via the Ceyhan tanks, pointing out to the interest of both countries in oil continuing to flow to the international markets via the Turkish Ceyhan Port. In the same process, the source disclosed that Iraq’s oil revenues since the beginning of this year have been US$25 billion as a result of selling Iraqi crude oil via Iraq’s northern and southern outlets estimated at 410m barrels. He explained saying that Iraq is now exporting 1.7 million barrels a day via its southern ports in addition to an estimated at five million barrels of crude oil via the Turkish Ceyhan Port. He pointed out that the rise in the price of oil on international markets has helped Iraq earn additional funds that will help support the Iraqi economy, and that the ministry is trying to increase the size of exports via the southern and northern outlets by developing a number of oil fields. |
