Iraq plans to construct $120 million highway around Baghdad

MENAFN) Iraqi Minister of Housing and Construction has met the director generals of the State Committee for Roads and Bridges, State Committee for Buildings and Ashur State Company, participants to discuss a new plan of construction a new $120M highway around Baghdad with (70) Km long, Iraqi National Congress reported.

The plan include also the construction of internal bridges over some intersections along with expanding other roads to reduce the traffic jam and facilitate transformation in coordination with Baghdad municipalities.

During the meeting, they affirmed the importance of the two projects (Dora-Yousifiya) road and (Hilla-Kish) road, in addition to the necessity of allocating the required sums to execute such important and critical projects.

The meeting handled problems and obstacles concerning establish (100) clinics all over Iraq's provinces, the minister stressed the necessity of training and rehabilitating ministry staff, especially in the fields of general administration and projects management.
