With the new Afghan government swiftly adopting its role in the regional economy, Afghan Commercial Attache Zeeshan Ibrahim, who visited Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) to meet its chief, has expressed an interest to strengthen bilateral ties between the two neighbours.
“Pakistan can be regarded as one of the most important trade partners of Afghanistan but bilateral trade between the two countries is not reflecting its true potential,” said FPCCI President Zakaria Usman.
“The non tariff barriers and other obstacles should be removed for a clearer path to the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries.”
He suggested the formation of a Customs Union between Pakistan and Afghanistan so that all complications can be avoided.
